Academy of Art University shows at New York Fashion Work
New York Fashion Week is a significant event for personalities and celebrities who want to throw their names out there in the media and make a reputation for themselves. It is a crucial week that highlights the world of fashion and discovers new talents.
The Academy of Art University was seen in the New York Fashion Week as is to be expected every event. It is already their 21st runway through the showcase of the event and on September 9, 2017, the Academy will be featured once again in the Skylight Clarkson Square.
The place of choice for the showcase is also timed perfectly: Skylight Clarkson Square is the birth of many stylistic and artistic phenomenon in the fashion industry. This season in special for the Square, as the recent BFA and MFA are debuting many collections and showcasing some of their best work with collaborations with other big names in the industry. It will be a significant event for the New York Fashion Week and the Academy of Art University will be at the center of it all.

Among the Alumni of the University, there is Rick Baker, very prominent in the University, who won an Academy Award for Best Makeup/Hairstyling as well as the special effects for the movie Maleficent, a couple of years ago. There is also the winner of 2005’s Pulitzer Prize, Deanne, and many other personalities who had highlights in their personal careers.
Among the staff of the University, Tim McGovern stands out for being the winner of the Academy Award for the best visual effects as well as Michael Brandt, who co-founded the famous Nootrobox.
